How we measure

FitScout is spec-based, not hands-on tested. We copy numbers from manufacturer pages and official sheets, store the URL, and stamp an as-of date.

What a spec row contains

Value, unit, source URL, as-of date. Missing data is “Not published”, never a dash we invented.

What we do not do

We do not invent a number. We do not scrape Amazon prices, star ratings, or product photos. We do not write “we tested” or “in our gym”.

FitScout spec score

A weighted average of published fields. Blank fields drop out. The score is ours. It is not an Amazon star rating.

Will-It-Fit math

Overhead press uses HAJEX: height × 1.33 plus about 9 in for plates (source). Pull-up headroom is about 12 in above the bar. Jump rope uses HomeGymCave’s height × 1.06 + 14 in. These are third-party heuristics.

Update cadence

v1 records are dated 2026-10-14. We expect a monthly pass over changed manufacturer pages. The as-of date is the staleness signal.
